Ski

In a class by itself, Vail may be America's most popular ski/snowboard resort. It certainly is the largest in North America stretching 7 miles from east to west. It has consistently ranked in the top resorts on the continent and among the very best in the world.

The resort has over 4,600 acres of skiable terrain. The front face or north slope provides an immense variety of skiing. The elevation helps produce an annual average snowfall in excess of 340 inches per year. There are over 170 marked trails, the longest running 4.5 miles sone th face. Vail, however is legendary for its back bowls, including the famous China Bowl and now the Blue sky Basin all of which are left ungroomed so as to provide the entire spectrum of skiing. From fresh powder to breakable crust there are limitless opportunities for different conditions. Vail's immense lift system includes 10 high speed quads, a gondola, and a network of 31 chair lifts to assure easy access to all the slopes and minimal lift lines. Life off the slopes starts in The town of Vail, a European inspired village . Activities include 70 restaurants, shop lined streets and an extraordinary range of accommodations. Families are welcome everywhere and kids have special ski/ board areas like "Lost Mine".
